At yKEA we are now recruiting for youth internships across the diocese. Clann is the Irish word for family and we are seeking to grow our yKEA family. Our internships are an opportunity to grow as a disciple in Christ’s clann, to lead youth work in a local parish clann and to facilitate ministry across our yKEA Clann. If you’re interested in taking a year out to build God’s kingdom in rural Ireland, then KEA Clann might be for you…
Equipping you to live as a disciple of Christ. Interns will meet together weekly for teaching and training. Additionally there will be one residential weekend per term for interns. You will also be mentored, coached and invested in by local church leaders.
Empowering you to lead youth ministry within a local parish placement in rural Ireland; planning programs, schools work, training and support for volunteers etc.
Releasing you to serve and lead across the diocese and further afield. Interns will work together to deliver diocesan events and participate in summer programs. There will also be the opportunity to go on an overseas mission trip (optional and self funded).
Who? The internship is open to young adults aged 18-30 who have made a commitment to follow Christ and are passionate about youth ministry.
Where? Interns are assigned a placement church within the Dioceses of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh.
Costs? The parish placement church provides interns with accommodation and work expenses ie travel, program budget. Interns also receive a small monthly allowance from yKEA toward living costs. Additionally we suggest that interns seek some monthly financial support from their home church. The optional overseas mission trip is self funded but this can include fundraising at home or during placement.
How do I apply? Download and complete the KEA Clann application form: KEA CLANN APPLICATION FORM or contact Hannah for an application pack (see below). Upon completion of an application there is then an interview process and we endeavour to contact applicants about the outcome as soon as possible. Those who are accepted onto the internship are expected to complete the Church of Ireland Safeguarding Trust training and be garda vetted before beginning their placement.
